Tetris Labour Hire are currently seeking a Junior/Graduate Quality Assurance Officer for our client who are a supplier for fresh and dry pet food products within the manufaturing industry.


About the Role:

An opportunity for someone with strong problem solving, excellent communication skills, and good attention to detail.

This role is suitable for a recent graduate who is willing to gain the knowledge and experience required to excel in the field of quality assurance to develop a successful career.

You will report to our Quality Assurance Manager and will be an instrumental part of our Quality team.


Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

  • Collecting and verifying the site QMS documents (based on HACCP, GMP, SQF, and WSEP standards)
  • Conducting site internal checks and GMP audits and assisting with preparation for external audits
  • Liaising with overseas suppliers for all qualityrelated queries, product specifications, and claims
  • Assisting with investigation of supplier nonconformances on site, registering and reporting accordingly
  • Assisting with investigation and registering of customer complaints
  • Maintaining retention samples
  • Assisting with data entry for customer portals relating to private label (e.g. Woolworths, Coles)
  • Assisting with label review program in line with FSANZ standards
  • Inspection of physical stock when required
  • Preparing samples and submission forms for microbial and chemical testing samples as per FICA (Food Import Compliance Agreement) schedule
  • Assisting FICA and BIOSECURITY site inspections and audits
  • Updating and maintaining product specifications, barcodes and other quality master data
  • Provide support to warehouse staff on quality issues
  • Working with key stakeholders to document and establish procedures, standards, systems and SOPs to ensure best quality practice
  • Promote a continuous improvement to food safety culture

About you

  • Qualification in food science or similar discipline
  • Basic knowledge of HACCP regulations and standards
  • Basic knowledge of FSANZ and relevant food safety standards
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Innovative with problemsolving skills
  • Friendly and approachable team player with the ability to work autonomously
  • Professional but colloquial
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Formal HACCP qualification desirable but not essential
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for food storage and safety, product labels and packaging desirable but not essential

Salary:
$60, $70,000.00 per year


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Morning shift
