The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Health & Injury Partner who will provide specialist support to Ventia sectors to effectively implement workers compensation, health and injury management activities for their employees.

This role is responsible for supporting and enabling business units to appropriately address employee health and injury factors impacting safe work participation.

This includes advice and assistance in relation to both work related injuries and non-work-related conditions.

This is a fulltime, Permanent role that will see you based in North Sydney.


Primary responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Provide specialist coaching and consultation with sector stakeholders and shared services colleagues to facilitate optimal workers compensation and injury management outcomes for employees
  • Monitor claims management activities from the TPA insurer to ensure effective claims strategies are implemented and actioned in a timely manner and in line with legislative requirements
  • Support implementation of sector workers compensation and health management strategies for injury management, illness prevention and management of all employee and workplace wellbeing factors impacting safe work participation
  • Facilitate coordination of claims, rehabilitation and return to work activities within sectors to support employees with work related injuries and/or nonworkrelated conditions
  • Case management strategy development and implementation for workers compensation, health and injury management matters to achieve optimal case resolution
  • Monitor and track claim trends, costs, outstanding liability and provision accounts in consultation with sectors
  • Participate in the development and delivery of trend data analysis to provide feedback to sectors and identify key trends areas and opportunities for improvement
  • Regular contact and communication with sector and service provider stakeholders
  • Identify sector training and development needs and facilitate information and delivery of training services

Skills and Experience

  • Workers compensation claims management experience with a selfinsured employer or commercial insurer will be highly regarded
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in roles with an insurer or broker, employer, or occupational rehabilitation provider,
  • Competent Microsoft Office knowledge and report writing skills
  • Return to work coordination accreditation with the relevant state(s) if applicable
  • Effective consulting and relationship management skills covering at least two of the following work areas:
  • workers compensation consulting
- injury management and return to work
- fitness for work
- health management
- risk management
