Temporary role for up to 12 months- UP to $75 per hour + super depending on experience

We are currently seeking experienced and influential leaders in the Payroll space to make the move into a new role in a diverse NSW Government Department.

Key Responsibilities:
- Take responsibility of mentoring and guiding a team of existing staff (around 7 team member), ensuring that deliverables are met
- Adopt an adaptable approach in relation to training new and existing staff members
- Work with the team to identify gaps in knowledge or process improvements
- Take ownership of daytoday BAU payroll operations for up to 600 people per fortnight
- Learn and engage with new software packages and systems to ensure accurate data management and payroll processing
- Be responsible for grasping new payroll processes and adopt a handson approach to payroll duties
- Act as a point of contact for payroll enquiries, offering guidance and support where required
- Utilise your exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy across all tasks
- Offer enthusiasm to your duties and integrate into a collaborative team environment
- Ensure that duties are efficiently dispersed across the team to ensure effective and accurate processing of pays
You will need to:
- Experience in a Payroll Officer position at a Senior or Leadership level in the casual/temporary payroll space is essential
- Experience in Government or the Public sector would be beneficial
- Must have exception attention to detail skills, with a real passion for focussing on details
- Must be a strong people leader, with the ability to bring members of staff up to standard and encourage development
- Have excellent written and spoken communication skills
