Description

Wood is currently recruiting for a Planner with Mechanical background to join the site maintenance team based at at Orbost Gas Plant near Orbost.

This is a 3 month contracted position with a commencement date in March 2024.

Reporting to the Project Shutdown Manager, these positions will be responsible for preparing detailed job packs including QA documents in readiness for execution.

Hand on development of detailed shutdown work packs.
Develop comprehensive job packs that include all necessary information, such as work instructions, procedures, materials, estimates, tools and safety requirements.
Collaborating with the shutdown manager, maintenance supervisors, operators and other stakeholders to establish realistic timelines and schedules for each work pack.
Identify the necessary resources, including labour, equipment, materials and external contractors, required to execute the work packs effectively.
Coordinating with various departments and teams to ensure seamless execution of tasks, such as procurement, logistics, engineering, and operations.
Creating and maintaining detailed documentation for each workpack.
Regularly updating project stakeholders on the progress of work packs, addressing any concerns or changes, and facilitating effective communication between different teams.
Addressing unexpected issues that arise during the execution of work packs, making necessary adjustments to keep the work on track.
Monitor overall project progress and achievement of major milestones
Liaise with other planners within the team and share responsibilities as appropriate to deliver an effective planning service to the client.
At least 5 years' experience as a shutdown planner / completions engineer

Strong stakeholder management

Internal/External
A background in Oil & Gas or Construction will be preferred
Engineering degree or Onsite experience will be highly considered
Working knowledge using MS Project will be an advantage
Demonstrated strong commitment to safety
Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, both written and oral
