About Gold Coast Light Rail Stage 3:

Gold Coast Light Rail has transformed public transport on the Gold Coast, helping create an integrated network that connects more people to more places in one of Australia's most dynamic and fastest growing cities.


John Holland is GoldlinQ's nominated design and construction contractor for GCLR3, to extend the existing light rail network by 6.7kms from Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads, including eight new light rail stations, two new light rail-bus connections, and intersection upgrades along the alignment.


Jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments, and the City of Gold Coast, this city-shaping project will link communities to business centres, shopping, dining, education and medical facilities and cater to the Gold Coast's expected population growth in the coming decades.


As construction of GCLR3 gets under way, John Holland is currently recruiting for a talented and driven Training Coordinator to join the team and play a key role in the successful deliver of the iconic Gold Coast project.


About the Role:


The Training Coordinators role will be to work as part of the People Team to ensure the delivery of compliant training strategies set for the project.

Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that Training policies, procedures and initiatives are delivered with integrity and consistency across the project.


Responsibilities of the Role:


  • Plan, schedule and coordinate training event logistics to meet training objectives
  • Track and complete internal project reports capturing development and training outcomes in line with project targets and compliance
  • Implement project training strategies to achieve compliance with the Queensland Training Policy and meet all current KPI's for the project
  • Complete all the associated administration related to the training objectives
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to provide education and information relating to training requirements for the GCLR project
  • Liaise with local service providers, and training providers to ensure optimal utilisation to meet training needs
  • Engage with RTO's to ensure the project training strategy is delivered and appropriate access to funding is optimised
  • Assist with project activities that support Queensland Procurement Policy and Best Practice Principles, including opportunities for Apprentices and Trainees, increasing employment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workers and other local employment initiatives.

To be successful in this key role, you must have:

  • 2+ years' previous experience in a Training Coordinator role with exposure to engineering, construction or manufacturing sectors
  • Strong administration and people management skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Recognised ability to organise, prioritise and work well under pressure to meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment, with strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
