About the role
As the Finance Officer you will be working closely with the Finance Manager, assisting with the preparation of the company's key financial deliverables.
The role will experience a diverse range of bookkeeping and finance admin tasks and will need to remain flexible and versatile in their approach.
You will be required to show initiative and demonstrate ability to learn and perform new skills as required by the practice.
- Accounts payable process including entry, review and reconciliation, authorisation management and payments
- Follow up of accounts receivable and reporting on payment collection
- Bank Reconciliations and preparation of month end reconciliation processes
- Preparation of fortnightly payroll
- Preparation of BAS, Payroll Tax, Superannuation payments
- Maintenance of fixed asset and lease registers
- Consistently complete allocated tasks to a high standard and within agreed time frames
- Actively participate in identifying, recommending, developing and implementing process improvements
- Be a team player, eager to learn and develop.
About you
We are looking for a finance professional with demonstrated experience in bookkeeping who enjoys working in a varied role. Ideally, we are looking for someone who previously worked in a creative or professional services background.
We are interested to hear from people with the following skills and experience:
- Experience with
Xero accounting package is essential - Demonstrated bookkeeping skills and experience
- Demonstrated understanding of financial principles, legislation and guidelines
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision, establish work priorities, meet deadlines, actively follow up and resolve outstanding tasks while ensuring attention to detail
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to take direction and meet deadlines
- Strong ability to communicate and interact with team members to support the business in its activities
- Have the ability to work autonomously
- Excellent initiative
- Strong communication skills
