Abano Healthcare Group is the operator of one of the largest trans-Tasman dental groups, with a team of over 2,000 across 280+ practices that make up "Maven Dental" and "1300SMILES Dentists" in Australia and "Lumino The Dentists" in New Zealand.

The Role
Our growing payroll team have implemented Dayforce by Ceridian, a new HRIS system. With almost 2,000 employees in Australia across over 130 locations we have a lot of ground to cover.

We're looking for a Payroll Officer to join the team as we embark on the next phase of the implementation.

To succeed, you're proactive, flexible, resilient and highly customer focused - happy to work autonomously, use your initiative, have a high attention to detail and turn your hand to anything that's needed - all while keeping your smile and sense of humour.

You will receive support from the payroll team, and partner with the wider finance and People & Culture teams.

This role will be based in our Southbank office, full-time, 5 days per week with working from home options available.

Key responsibilities

Endtoend processing of fortnightly pay runs for the Australian division in accordance with instructions, agreed expectations and best practice.
Perform full function payroll tasks for the Australian division including onboarding, auditing, reconciliations, terminations, superannuation and ATO reporting.
Ensure all payroll transactions are processed in an efficient and timely manner.
Maintain employee records and payroll information.
Resolve payroll related issues and improve processes to develop best practice.
Provide effective communication, advice and assistance to internal and external stakeholders and develop and maintain quality relationships.
Ensure payroll policies and procedures are followed.

What you'll need to succeed

Sound knowledge of Australian employment / payroll legislation.
Experience with complex payroll platforms highly regarded (Dayforce HCM, Aurion).
Customer service skills
High level of attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and comfortable working in a changing and fast paced working environment.
Able to work well as part of a large team as well as autonomously and manage own workload.
