An exciting opportunity has arisen in Women Youth and Children Community Health Program for a part time, permanent Program Support Officer.

WYCCHP provides community-based services across the ACT in child, family and women's health. WYCCHP has a strong team culture and a supportive leadership team.

This position is based at 1 Moore St and supports the work of the WYCCHP across strategic planning, service reporting, quality improvement and evaluation.

The position is being advertised as a RN3.1 or a HP4.


POSITION OVERVIEW:


Women, Youth and Children, Community Health Programs (WYCCHP) delivers a range of primary health care community-based services to children, adolescents, families and women including early pregnancy, child and family health, school health, child protection and women's health services.

Services are delivered within a multi-disciplinary context and often by a multidisciplinary team.


The Program Support Officer works closely with the WYCCHP leadership team to broadly provide support for the delivery of clinical services.

This includes strategic planning, change management and organisational development.


DUTIES:


Under limited direction of the WYCCHP Director you will provide support for the delivery of clinical services, including service projects, strategic planning, model of care development and evaluation and reporting.


You will:

  • Identify and assist with progression of Community Health Programs activities, including facilitation with consumers and key stakeholders.
  • Support the coordination, benchmarking and communication across WYCCHP initiatives, including representing the Program in forums as necessary.
  • Undertake research and literature reviews, and critically analyse information to inform best practice and delivery of exceptional health care when planning new initiatives or quality improvement activities, inclusive of all areas of the Program.
  • Develop and prepare project plans and project updates.
  • Draft a range of written material including correspondence, briefing notes, executive level minutes, reports, discussion papers and submissions.
  • Provide secretarial support to cross Directorate and interagency committees as required.
  • Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the organisation.

Position Requirements/Qualifications:

Mandatory

  • Tertiary qualifications as a health professional and be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or for allied health professions not regulated by National Law be eligible for accreditation with the Australian Association of Social Workers; and a minimum of 5 years' experience working professionally in a relevant clinical area is preferred.
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant Primary Health speciality or in Policy development and experience in project management is desirable
  • Hold a current Driver's Licence
  • Be registered or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • CHS is leading the drive to digitally transform health service delivery in Australia through the implementation of a territory wide Digital Health Record. Computer literacy skills are required which are relevant to this role as you will be responsible for completing required documentation and becoming a proficient user of the Digital Health Record and/or other Information Technology systems; once proficient, you will need to remain current with changes, updates and contingencies.
  • Have an understanding of how the National Standards and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) indicators align with this role.
  • Fulfil the responsibilities of this role as detailed in the CHS Exceptional Care Framework, Clinical Governance Framework, Partnering With Consumers Framework and all other related frameworks.
