The role is designed to provide professional Health, Safety and Wellbeing communication/consultation expertise to support the execution of the Group's Health, Safety and Wellbeing strategy and continuously improve the Health, Safety and Wellbeing performance of the Group.

A critical component of this role is the successful engagement of employees across the Group to continuously improve Health, Safety and Wellbeing outcomes and meet all external and internal consultation requirements.


Reporting into the Executive Manager Wellbeing, the
HSW Communications Manager **will work closely alongside the Health, Safety and Wellbeing team, change and HR platforms teams.


In this role you will be responsible for:

  • End to end development (including concept and design) and implementation of professional customer and risk focused Health, Safety and Wellbeing communication and engagement programs. This includes all entities of the Group and includes programs such as (but not limited to) Safety Day and Mental Health Month.
  • Project manage all change requirements and implications for the Group's Health, Safety and Wellbeing team and relevant stakeholders.
  • Development and adherence to a structured communications plan/strategy that aligns to wider Human Resources and Group communication requirements and the Group's Health, Safety and Wellbeing Strategy, ensuring the message is consistent and engaging.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal and external Health, Safety and Wellbeing communication and engagement requirements, including legislative and selfinsurance requirements. This includes (but not limited to) HR Direct, BU and Group Communication teams and Health and Safety Representatives (HSR's).
  • Management of all internal and external communication/consultation related stakeholder relationships and engagement, this includes the building of external relationships and benchmarking with other organisations.
  • Research and successful adoption of new communication and engagement processes and strategies that continuously improve the Health, Safety and Wellbeing outcomes for the Group. These should be consistent with and contribute to integrating Health, Safety and Wellbeing requirements with normal operations and in accordance with the Group's Health, Safety and Wellbeing Strategy and the team's philosophy of simple and easy solutions.
  • Project management responsibilities including developing detailed project plans, ensuring resource availability and allocation and delivering projects on time within budget and scope. Maintenance and continuous improvement of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing intranet (Sidekick ) and Microsoft Team sites, including all record keeping requirements and alignment with documented procedures.

  • Experience developing and implementing large-scale communication strategies, including stakeholder analysis, communications and messaging development, engagement tactics, activity and timeline planning aligned to milestones.
  • The ability to work across multiple projects and execute plans and deliverables to an excellent standard.
  • Are great at building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships to drive outcomes with internal communication teams and our HR business partners across our diverse business units.
  • Experience driving adoption of technology solutions offered by HR through simple and effective communication.
  • The ability to understand business needs and bring a userfocused lens to communications and digital solutions.
  • A passion for improving the customer (employee) experience and designing content that is simple, clear and engaging.
