We have an opportunity for a motivated, enthusiastic administrative Assistant to join the Dandenong Emergency Department team, supporting the Departmental Directors, Nurse Manager and the ED leadership team.


About Us


Monash Health Emergency Services comprises the three Emergency Departments of Monash Health, Monash Medical Centre Emergency Department, Dandenong Hospital Emergency Department and Casey Hospital Emergency Department, which together treat over 225,000 patients per annum.


Dandenong ED is a mixed department of adults and children seeing around 70,000 and is a major urban teaching hospital.

Dandenong ED has been relocated to a purpose built new building with state of the art information and communication technology and separate fast track, critical care, main and observation unit functions.


About The Role
The Emergency Department Secretary's primary role is supporting the Emergency Department Director, Nurse Manager and the ED Leadership Team (including P.A. Support for the Service Director) to effectively and efficiently perform their duties.

The Secretary will provide comprehensive secretarial assistance and business administrative support to the Monash Emergency Department Executive Team and Senior Medical Staff.


What You Need:


  • At least three years general administration &/or secretarial experience
  • Experience within a medical environment and a basic understanding of medical terminology
  • Excellent customer service skills and a high standard of both written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to use initiative and perform tasks independently and be able to work effectively and harmoniously as part of a team
  • Good organisational skills and be comfortable prioritising and meeting multiple demands
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Certificate or Diploma in related discipline is desirable
  • Good working knowledge of hospital administrative processes and hospital systems (UKG Dimensions, iProc, BEIMS, Riskman, Mercury Erecruit, iPM) is desirable
