Nuance and Subtlety - the new way of living life.

Nuance and Subtlety - the new way of living life.

5559d762.jpg

Humans are creatures of habit and boxes. We are not creatures of flow, subtlety and nuance.

We like being boxed in. We like knowing that things will always be the way we think they should be and we like having things spelt out for us. Ambiguity makes our skins crawl and twitch.

The problem is we are collectively increasing our abilities to live in the light that is constantly moving and yet we want to stay in the solidness of polarised, black and white thinking.

"Creatives" of all kinds (including inventors,) are always at the forefront of change because they use their intuition to bring forth new worlds. They are the first adaptors of change and intuitively bring forth the new understanding. Their job is to translate and give language to that change be it in visual, verbal, physical ways or any combination of these.

I am reminded here of the impressionist painters who tried to capture the changing light in their paintings. They used dappled, quick brush strokes. Solid lines and filling in blocks of colour to make the image photographic disappeared and instead we were treated to the movement of light, the sense of space between the colour and the feeling of energy moving.

So what do we need to thrive in a complex, nuanced, ambiguous world?

We need to develop our emotional landscapes and inner lives.

We need to be

  • adaptable
  • intuitive
  • emotionally responsive and responsible
  • able to take action quickly and incisively
  • connected to ourselves first and then to others
  • switched on to our core gifts
  • find sustenance in compassion, kindness and empathy for others including flora, fauna and our Earth
  • able to choose wisely and contribute to the whole, not just feed ourselves.
We need to become aware than change is our new balance.

And when we do that we will feel more aligned with our world, more fulfilled, more switched on to the joy of living.

You came into this world knowing fully why you wanted to be here at this time ... it is now time for you to remember and step forth into the wholeness of you at the level of your soul and contribute all that you came here to give.

Yes, it will mean letting go of things that no longer serve you, for that is the way of the world. As we grow we need to change our clothes, skin, jobs, direction and yes even homes or countries. Take this on joyfully.

  • Know that the confusion and loss you are now experiencing is for a reason.
  • Trust in your inner truth and your soul's compass.
  • Understand that resistance is futile, and prolongs your distress.
Are you ready for the biggest adventure you've yet experienced?

It's already on its way to you, knocking at your door.

@DebHelfrich, it sounds as though you are well on the way to finding that Life Sweet Spot that I coach my clients in. I always think about the metaphor - dancing on a moving carpet as the way we need to be flexible. Hope that helps! Lovely to meet you here too!

You broke down performance anxiety into its many forms and ways that it attaches to our narrative good read. The box that you refer to is a direct result of our performance anxiety. If we can make the walls of our box common then the anxiety will go away. Unfortunately many people are a part of our lives, they too have walls that intersect with our walls. The key to performance anxiety? Serve where you stand. When we look at our worldview we tend to incorporate others successes or failures into our measuring stick. We then hold this stick up and attempt to control our environment. What happens when we have ten different sticks in a room? Chaos. Anxiety. The true leader sees this happening and can serve where they stand. Reframing, not from performance but rather from vision, aligning the measuring sticks into a single effort. With out a service orientation we are but another stick on the box building team.

Lisa, I think we do choose... sometimes that's hard to understand when we have had lives with pain, abuse or struggle, but if we focus on what those struggles have done for us, how we've grown, learned and overcome those struggles it is easier to cope with and enables us to use that strength to create other experiences that are more joyful. From my own perspective I believe we are here to understand love... and of course like everything else on this amazing planet the options for love are limitless. Thanks for coming by and leaving a comment. Blessings!

I read a book once about people's stories saying we all chose our lives, our families and even conditions we would have or be exposed to before we were born. Some people that told their stories in this book stated they chose an abusive family or even to be born with a major disability. The purpose, to live life with purpose and conquer in order to move up the ladder in the next world once they left this one. Not sure I buy it but who can discredit anything we don't know? Life and death are mysteries and all we have to go on are NDE's, dreams, and those who claim they are able to 'see' what we can't, speak to lost loved ones etc... life sure is a mystery.
