    About the Role

    The Hazard and Risk unit leads the development of disaster risk management approaches in Queensland by ensuring government and communities have access to scientifically informed hazard and risk information, management processes and products that support integrated disaster risk reduction and management practice.

    As a key member of this team you will provide expert knowledge and technical input into multiple projects including flood studies, plans and infrastructure projects. You will also lead collaborative project teams made up of technical specialists and develop tailored project briefs outlining the scope of work to be undertaken.

    You will report on governance, cost, time and scope of projects and develop communications for internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, you will manage project risks and issues through early identification and corrective actions.

    This role requires highly developed communication, project management and leadership skills with experience working across multidisciplinary teams. You will represent QRA's position and develop collaborative relationships with external stakeholders particularly local governments and other state agencies.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Provide expert knowledge and technical input into multiple projects
    • Lead collaborative project teams
    • Develop tailored project briefs
    • Report on governance, cost, time and scope of projects
    • Manage project risks and issues

    Requirements:

    • Highly developed communication, project management and leadership skills
    • Experience working across multidisciplinary teams
    • Ability to represent QRA's position
