About the Role:
To enable the business to further professionalise and grow, the Directors are seeking to appoint a General Manager, the lead Executive role in the business.
You will assume ultimate responsibility for all round performance of the business, including financial performance, execution of business vision and strategic plans, and upholding of both cultural and ethical standards.
More specifically, your brief will include: Reviewing and enhancing procedures and policies business wide.Reviewing the effectiveness of current IT platforms and implementing enhancements, potentially including the scoping, selection and implementation of new systems.
A strong focus on the coaching and development of your people, while at the same time ensuring a climate of accountability for performance.
Ensuring high-quality financial governance and reporting.About You:
You are a construction industry professional, Degree-qualified in Construction or Engineering and likely having completed further education in Business/Management.
You bring to the table:
Proven success in roles at general management level in which you have been ultimately responsible for P&L performance.
This could be at State, Regional or National level.
Success in leading large labour forces, ideally as a subcontractor, and effectively managing the labour risk on sizeable projects.
A demonstrated history of analysing, refining and implementing improvements to policies, processes and systems, including technology platforms.
A track record of coaching and inspiring individuals and teams to higher levels of performance, evidenced by profitable, sustainable growth.
Ideally, experience in privately held businesses involving direct engagement with owners/shareholders.At a personal level, you:
