    Overview

    As a Software Engineer in Azure Networking, you will gain marketable experience in massive scale data centre network architecture, design, network infrastructure automatic management, software defined networking and high scalable/available/reliable distributed service design/implementation.

    Microsoft Azure is expanding its team in Australia and is looking for dynamic individuals to work in various service devops teams. The ideal candidate would be adaptable and able to become a subject matter expert across a variety of services and systems throughout their career.

    The team develops and operates highly scalable software supporting Azure Networking including automations that maintain the configuration of our network. Many software engineers are involved in all aspects of the life cycle including software design, implementation, deployment and operations. Others are involved in advanced monitoring, analysis, and alerting for security events.

    This work opportunity is fully working from home up to 100% on the Australian east coast.

    Responsibilities

    • Works with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a set of features.
    • Contributes to the identification of dependencies, and the development of design documents for a product area with little oversight.
    • Creates and implements code for a product, service, or feature, reusing code as applicable.
    • Contributes to efforts to break down larger work items into smaller work items and provides estimation.
    • Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) working on-call to monitor system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions and gains approval to restore system/product/service for simple problems.
    • To be able to identify root causes of network issues and system performance bottlenecks, propose simple and implementable technical solutions and actively reach out to customers to solve their pain points.
