As a Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in administration of systems, including but not limited to servers, virtualisation technologies, cloud computing, data centre management, storage and backup infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud services while prioritising security and reliability.

Responsibilities:

Administer and maintain IT systems and applications
Work alongside and act as an escalation point for IT helpdesk
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to the implementation of innovative technologies
Conduct regular system audits and proactively monitor IT infrastructure to identify potential issues and implement preventive measures
Ensuring all systems are configured with a security-first mindset
Responsible for ongoing development, installation, configuration, Testing, maintenance and support of Infrastructure, Systems and Applications (On-Premise and Cloud)
Implement automation tools or scripts to streamline deployments, monitor infrastructure and maintain security
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including standard operating procedures and knowledge base articles
Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to recommend innovative solutions

Skills and Experience Required:

5+ years experience in IT, preferably in a support or administrative capacity
Formal qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
Strong technical knowledge of hardware, software, and network infrastructure
Strong technical Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Exchange, Active Directory, O365 and Windows operating systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
Experience with Palo Alto PANOS, Meraki, Hyper-V and Microsoft Intune is preferred
Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) will be an advantage
