    What does the job look like?

    The Group Portfolio and Delivery Manager supports landing the technologies required by Linfox, to drive the overall Linfox Business Strategy. A key part of the role is building trusted relationships with our business partners and technology stakeholders across operations and support services.

    The Group Portfolio and Delivery Manager role is a vital position and leadership role in the Data, Corporate Solutions and Emerging Technology Group (this Group includes Corporate Systems, Data and Analytics and Productivity teams).

    Specific tasks required to be performed by this role include:

  • Coordination of projects and initiatives: work pipeline management and visualisation
  • Team Engagement: Ensure team resourcing is spread across Group portfolio as required.
  • Design and drive process efficiency across Linfox operations and support services: Identify opportunities for our Working Smarter initiative across the Group portfolio.
  • Data driven decisions and commercial impact (e.g., Prepare Cost, Benefit and Business Cases required for initiatives; Model and analyse future commercial constructs in relation to potential solutions, clearly illustrating the future years budget impact).
  • Business Engagement: high level of engagement with our customer base, which includes 7 business units and 5 support services driving our Working Smarter strategic driver across the business.

    You will be the point of contact for with our customers in business and support services and the key coordinator of the work pipeline coming through multiple channels into the Group technology teams. At a high level, key competencies include Portfolio Management (especially resource and work pipeline management), Project Management skills (in particular, stakeholder engagement, vendor management, project planning and estimation), 'pre-sales' and high-level Business Analysis skills (workshop facilitation, commercial business case development).

    You are an experienced technologist with a commercial bent, and a pragmatic negotiator focused on getting the job done. You will create value by eliciting and coordinating multiple channels of work requests, coaching our tech operations leads to roadmap demand and shaping up work packages to a level the technical teams can work with.

    Other background/experience will include:

  • Working knowledge in areas such as Business Case preparation, UX (User Experience), Process Engineering, SDLC (solution development lifecycle), and Product Management (End User focus).
  • Experience managing projects, pipelines and stakeholders is essential to this role.
  • Understanding of Project/Program Management and Portfolio Management frameworks
  • Leading and influencing others is essential to this role.
  • PM and BA accreditation (e.g., Prince2, BABOK etc) are preferred but not essential (if experience is illustrated
