    Job Title: Mental Health Professional

     

    About the Role

    The Tasmanian State Service is the largest employer in Tasmania, with over 28,000 employees providing services to the community at all levels. As part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering high-quality mental health services in accordance with the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, the Allied Health Professional will:

    • Deliver quality care to clients of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) based on best practice principles and within a collaborative framework.
    • Provide specialist assessment and treatment services to clients of CAMHS and their families or carers.
    • Promote community awareness in relation to mental health and act as a consultant to other agencies with regard to the support and management of clients with mental health needs.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Ensure the delivery of a comprehensive clinical service through assessment, case management, and individual therapies, including specialised therapies for clients and their families or carers.
    • Provide evidence-based assessment and treatment interventions for clients with major and complex mental health problems, including the development and implementation of specialised treatment programs.
    • Function as an active member of a multi-disciplinary team, providing support and consultation to other team members as required.
    • Prepare specialised reports as needed.
    • Consult and liaise with the broader health system, including GPs, other Agencies, and families and carers, to optimise service effectiveness and efficiency and continuity of care.

    Appointment Details

    This is a permanent full-time day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. The successful applicant will receive a salary of $106,966 - $118,114 per annum, with an additional 11.5% superannuation contribution.

    Essential Criteria

    • Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Occupational Board of Australia and Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
    • Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Psychology Board of Australia and Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia.
    • Tertiary qualification/program of study accredited by Speech Pathology Australia and is a full member of Speech Pathology Australia or is eligible for membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
    • Current Working with Children Registration.

    Desirable Criteria

    • Current Driver's Licence.
    • Postgraduate experience in mental health in relation to Child and Adult Mental Health Services.
