    We are currently seeking Project Supervisors to support the DBS (Defence Base Services) contract on a full-time basis.

    Reporting to the Project Engineering Coordinator, the primary purpose of the role is to provide support to the Project Delivery team by performing a coordination and transactional function throughout the lifecycle of a project.

    This role will suit motivated individuals with a desire to utilise and expand on their current skill set and looking for career progression within the Ventia business.

    The role will initially be based at Simpson Barracks for training. In addition, as this role will be supporting the Defence sites in Metro and Regional Victoria, travel will be required.

    Key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Completing scoping, pricing and preparation of projects proposals associated to technical or complex Alternative Proposals.
  • Supporting our Estate Upkeep, Estate Maintenance and Operation Services Team (EMOS) in their Planned Works, Regional Discretionary Estate Works, Third Party Projects or other ad hoc tasking)
  • Undertaking some estimating tasks and coordinating the sourcing and evaluation of pricing data from subcontractors, suppliers, and internal resources.
  • Management of all approved projects, including subcontractor coordination and management and communication with key stakeholders.
  • Delivery of projects to scope, within allocated timeframes and budget.
  • Ensure documentation is managed effectively and is retrievable on demand.
  • Ensure all relevant estate data is captured for each project in line with Defence and internal requirements.
  • Facilitate project close out, including hand over and archive of project documentation in accordance with management plan and Company guidelines.
  • Ensure internal systems accurately reflect practical completion times and trigger financial closure of Projects to support monthly billing and reporting requirements.
  • To be successful in this role it is essential that you possess the following:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of cost planning and project management controls principles and practices (training or certification in a formal Project Management methodology is highly regarded)
  • Excellent oral and written skills, with experience in preparing proposals highly regarded.
  • High level of computer skills including MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint, CAD, and SAP Project System.
  • An ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of asset management and facilities management.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills and the ability to manage and lead teams.
  • Tertiary qualifications in construction, engineering, quantity surveying or similar would be beneficial.
  • Trade knowledge highly regarded.
