    Oversee the seamless execution of numerous intricate design packages, each comprising multiple concurrent work streams, ensuring strict adherence to design specifications, scheduling, budgetary constraints, and meeting various commercial, safety, quality, environmental, and community objectives.

    This pivotal role entails spearheading and supervising the design process for over 190 kilometers of transmission lines within the ambit of the Western Renewable Link (WRL) Project, with potential involvement in offering technical guidance during the construction phase if deemed necessary.

    With a 3/2 Hybrid (Office/WFH) split this role is based in Melbourne, Victoria with regular travel to our sites and is part of the Western Renewables Link (WRL) Team
    This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:
    Plan and oversee technical aspects for delivering High Voltage Transmission Lines, ensuring quality and project objectives are met.
    Monitor design partners' performance within the EPC contractor to maintain deliverables within budget and schedule.
    Lead design approval processes for greenfield and brownfield terminal station packages, adhering to project requirements.
    Manage design and construction phases, providing technical guidance and responses to queries.
    Ensure design costs align with project requirements and demonstrate commercial awareness in client interactions.
    Contribute to improving design standards, policies, and overall business activities.
    Manage client and stakeholder expectations, communicate effectively with the project team, and ensure compliance with safety requirements.

    Oversee the design elements of a +190km New Transmission Line and augmentation of existing Terminal Stations, ensuring alignment with project and Aus Net requirements.

    Engage Aus Net internal stakeholders throughout the design process to facilitate seamless asset integration into operations.
    Provide technical guidance during delivery and commissioning phases of terminal stations.

    You don't need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

    Tertiary Qualification in Building, Construction, Engineering or extensive experience in technical management on significant projects, design or construction
    Multi-discipline project experience in Building, Construction and Design
    Proven commercial and legislative compliance skills and design frameworks and systems
    Demonstrated competencies in Head Contract and Subcontract understanding and interpretation.
    Strong stakeholder management with major consultant partners
    Awareness of risk management principles and how design can impact operational risk.
    Proficient skills in relevant computer software packages and necessary to perform the role.
    Strong time and cost management skills in timely delivery of design and management of both the costs of preparing design and the costs of the works
