Job Title: Intake Officer

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Intake Officer to join our friendly and supportive team in Teneriffe. As an Intake Officer, you will play a vital role in coordinating and completing participant intakes within designated Employment Service Areas, providing people with disabilities a pathway to open employment.

Key Responsibilities

• Intake Coordination: Manage and coordinate the intake of all participants, ensuring timely and efficient processing.
• Participant Assessment: Conduct assessments to identify participants' needs and suitability for services, as well as eligibility requirements for CPL and relevant funding bodies.
• Compliance and Reporting: Ensure referrals and commencements meet Disability Support Services (DSS) contractual obligations, maintaining accurate records and reporting as required.
• Job Planning: Develop initial Job Plans, addressing barriers to employment and ensuring positive outcomes for participants.
• Liaison and Partnerships: Build relationships with schools, disability employment organisations, and local businesses to facilitate participant referrals and employment opportunities.

Selection Criteria

• Experience Working with Disabilities: Demonstrated experience in a similar role working with people with disabilities.
• Negotiation and Problem-Solving: Ability to negotiate with key stakeholders and provide solutions to complex problems.
• Disability Employment Knowledge: Working knowledge of Disability Employment Services (DES) Eligibility Criteria.
• Communication and Networking: Highly effective communication, networking, and rapport-building skills.
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience with the intake process and matching participants to employment staff, as well as a 'can-do' attitude and ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
• Driver's License and Clearances: Valid C class driving license, Blue card, and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.

Salary and Packaging

This is a permanent full-time role offering a salary + salary packaging package. Based in Townsville, this role requires a valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
