    About the role:
    We have an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team leading our approach to the provision of quality care to clients of the Drug Health Service. The position forms a key part of the Inner City Health Stream and works in partnership with the Alcohol and Drug Service Clinical Director. Under the direction of the Stream Manager of the Inner City Health Program and in partnership with the Clinical Director the position is accountable for the overall leadership, innovation and management of the service. The position operationally manages all nursing, allied health and administration staff within the service and provides leadership support the wider Drug Health Services. In conjunction with the Clinical Directors, the position also provides strategic direction and ensures effective and efficient operations of the Drug Health Services in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of St Vincent's Health Australia. The fundamental objectives of this role are to strengthen and grow the Drug Health Service by working collaboratively with the Directors to:

    • Lead the Drug Health Service to deliver on its mission objectives by ensuring high quality, efficient and effective execution of day-to-day health service delivery, combined with a robust focus on continuous improvement.
    • Set the strategic direction for the Drug Health Service and ensuring effective operational management.
    • Contribute towards the development and implementation of strategic and operational plans, policy development, program initiation and performance monitoring.
    • Ensure the Drug Health Service operates within a robust set of financial and operational performance targets that represent an appropriate balance between current capabilities, acceptable performance standards and industry best practice.
    • Collaborate and co-ordinate hospital, community and non-government organisation needs within a strength based and recovery focused framework.

    About you:
    We are seeking a skilled and energetic Drug Health Service Manager who possess a passion for person centred care.

    Selection Criteria:
    1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent's Health Australia
    2. Current Nursing Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or other relevant professional body

    3. Relevant tertiary qualifications in health or management or equivalent industry experience

    4. Proven extensive management experience at a senior level preferably within the Alcohol and Drug/Drug Health field, including extensive knowledge of Alcohol and Drug models of care and service provision
    5. Ability to integrate mission, embed excellence in clinical operations and meet challenging financial and patient care outcome targets especially in the medical specialties.
    6. Well-developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication, consultation and negotiation skills with ability to build and maintain effective collaborative relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
    7. Proven aptitude in complex problem solving, decision making, managing projects and strategic planning.
    8. Understanding of the role and function of public hospitals and community health services within the Australian and NSW health systems, with ability to comprehend the navigation of a patient's journey across hospital, community and primary care services.
