The Role


Ardross PS is seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Education Assistant (EA) to support the coordination, implementation, and monitoring of high-quality intervention programs across the school.

The successful applicant will play a key leadership role in ensuring the effective deployment of Education Assistants and supporting student learning outcomes through evidence-based practices.

There will be a teaching component in this role.


The Lead EA should work closely with the Deputy Principal and Intervention Coordinator to organise, monitor and evaluate targeted intervention programs such as MacqLit, MiniLit, and Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills (DIBELS) progress monitoring.

This role requires initiative, collaboration, and a strong commitment to data-informed practice and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities May Include

Coordinate the Education Assistant duty roster with the Deputy Principal.

In collaboration with the Deputy Principal and Manager Corporate Services, coordinate the weekly timetable, ensuring equitable allocation and effective support across classrooms and intervention programs.

Collaborate with the Intervention Coordinator and teaching teams to schedule, deliver and review targeted literacy and numeracy intervention sessions.
Lead the delivery of small group programs; including MacqLit, MiniLit, and other evidence-based interventions aligned with school improvement priorities.

Collect, record and analyse student progress data using tools such as, DIBELS, and contribute to regular progress-tracking and evaluation reports.

Support teachers in implementing intervention strategies within the classroom and monitor the fidelity of intervention delivery.

Demonstrated considerable knowledge and understanding of the delivery of education programs and/or behaviour management plans; and ability to identify problems and assist teachers and other Education Assistants in the development of strategies and solutions.

Demonstrated well developed oral communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to lead, mentor, coach, induct and train other Education Assistants and professional teams, including providing advice and evaluating education programs.

Demonstrated well developed written communication skills, including report writing, and the ability to coordinate, collect and present student data at a whole school community level in a meaningful way.

Demonstrated well developed organisational skills, including the ability to coordinate staff rosters and relief to assist in the delivery of effective education programs.
