Curtin University seeks a skilled and dedicated individual to fill the position of Technical Officer.

About the Role:

Curtin is looking for an accomplished professional who can work independently and as part of a team in providing technical support, services and advice. You will be responsible for conducting safety inductions, supervising students in class, preparing materials and maintaining workshop facilities. Additionally, you will administer equipment loan processes, collaborate with academic staff on class procedures and maintain studios/workshops including performing regular safety checks.
Suitable candidates must possess excellent communication skills along with knowledge of fabrication equipment management as well as experience working safely in woodwork environments. Demonstrated proficiency using specialist tools such as jointers thicknessers routers radial arm saws panel saws biscuit joiner circular saw drill presses belt/disc sander bandsaws lathes milling machines would be advantageous
