    As a Development Engineering Officer, based in Brisbane you will form an integral part of our Secondary Systems team. Reporting to the Secondary Systems Section Leader you work with highly skilled and supportive tradespersons to develop the core competencies required of a qualified Engineering Officer in the Secondary Systems Group.

    You will progress towards completing an Advanced Diploma (or equivalent) in a relevant Engineering field coupled with your current or completion of your trade certificate while supported by the business to align with expectations of the group.

    Within the Secondary Systems team you will be presented with pathways that exist for both Secondary systems field teams within both Protection and Metering, and Communications and Control.

    As you learn key field-based skills, across Queensland, you will carry out maintenance and project, test and commissioning works for all Secondary Systems assets in a HV substation environment.

    Most of all, you will enter a supportive and collaborative working environment that embraces development and values diversity and inclusion.

    Your expertise

    Essential


    • Relevant Electrical/Communications Trade Certificate and/or


    • Associate Degree/Advanced Diploma in relevant Engineering field or lessor qualification with extensive relevant experience

    Demonstrated ability to learn skills and knowledge of Secondary Systems in a field environment.


    • Demonstrated ability to apply Safety and Environmental Management principles, to ensure all work is completed safely and is environmentally compliant.


    • Demonstrated ability to perform maintenance, repair, testing and commissioning of electrical equipment, in high voltage substations.
