We are currently recruiting for a Aviation Protection Officer to be based at Cairns Airport on a Casual basis.

As an Aviation Protection Officer you will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality, customer-focused security services while creating safe and memorable travel experiences for travellers and visitors transiting through Cairns Airport.

The Position

As the Aviation Protection Officer you will be responsible for:

• Demonstrated ability to engage with customers, consistently providing a high quality, positive experience.
• Demonstrated potential to undertake screening activities in a fast-paced airport environment
• Applied skills, knowledge, and physical ability to perform all Security and Safety emergency procedures
• Ensure compliance with security and safety procedures and regulatory requirements
• Consistently display professional standards of behaviour and personal presentation
• The ability to work in a fast-paced ever changing team environment
• Utilize excellent verbal communication skills
• Complete incident reports as required
• Engage with travellers and visitors in a positive manner when they are transiting through and arriving and departing the terminal.

Skills and Experience

You will have:

• Ability to obtain/endorsed for Aviation Transport Security Protection Qualification (TSP)
• Ability to successfully pass Drug and Alcohol screening and Medical assessments
• Ability to obtain an ASIC (Criminal history clearance)
• Availability to work on a 24/7 rotating roster
