    We are currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Mining Engineer to join our Medium-Term Planning team.

    Reporting to the Superintendent of Medium Term Planning, this role is responsible for coordinating 2 Year Mining Schedules for our Christmas Creek mine site and coordinating mine development projects and associated designs.

    To be successful in this role, candidates must have strong interpersonal skills with both operational and technical teams, shorter and longer-term planning experience, and be able to articulate potential risks and opportunities within the planned works.

    Key ResponsibilitiesScheduling mining and other associate activities to varied planning horizons.
    Timely delivery of plans and schedules to meet internal delivery timelines.

    Liaise with support functions, including Approvals, Geology, Geotechnical and Hydrogeology, to understand risks and opportunities to the operation and to enable the timely achievement of mining milestones.

    Coordination of multiple stakeholders in mine development projects to distribute resources effectively and meet critical deadlines for delivery.
    Communicating options, designs and plans with relevant stakeholders.
    Delivering product quality, pit progression, waste schedules, fleet requirements, cost estimations and other technical guidance as required.
    Mentor and train mine planning engineers.
    Identify risks and opportunities to the work produced.
    Qualifications and ExperienceRelevant experience gained as a mining engineer (5 years minimum).
    Strong medium-term planning skills (3 MP and 2 YP).
    Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or similar.
    Practical approach to engineering and design problems.
    Knowledge in open pit mining, preferably in iron ore.
    Computer proficiency (Excel, MS Office, Vulcan, ATS, Haul Infinity, Rapid Reserver).
    Strong analytical skills.
    Strong interpersonal skills with both operations and technical teams.
    Team orientation and strong ability to take initiative.

    Excellent communication/presentation skills with the ability to convey technical detail, potential risks, and opportunities within the planned works to a variety of stakeholders.
