    Description

    Job Title: Engine Technician

    Job Summary

    The Engine Technician is responsible for performing repairs and maintenance on engines and engine components. This includes disassembling, inspecting, and cleaning engines and/or engine components.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Apply documented procedures and policies to complete basic repairs and schedule maintenance.
    • Disassemble, inspect, and clean engines and/or engine components.
    • Assist with completion of required documentation.
    • Complete training in line with skill and business requirements.
    • Maintain work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
    • Ensure adherence to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies.

    Critical Competencies

    Health and Safety Fundamentals

    Champions and models proactive health and safety behaviors by identifying, reporting, and participating in actions to improve health and safety.

    Diagnostics Application

    Translates customer complaints into a troubleshooting plan and validates repair by duplicating complaint to ensure it has been resolved.

    Electrical Knowledge

    Demonstrates knowledge of Cummins and industry standards on working with low and/or high voltage.

    Electronic Service Tool Application

    Identifies the suite of available hardware and software tools required for a service event.

    Mechanical Knowledge

    Demonstrates knowledge of Cummins and industry standards by complying with all safe work procedures.

    Product Repair and Maintenance

    Repairs and maintains mechanical/electrical products following guidelines.

    Service Documentation

    Captures specific data using required service tools and follows procedures to document required information.

    Technical Escalation

    Obtains product technical issue information and utilizes available resources.

    Qualifications

    • Apprentice Trained Engine Technician.
    • Minimal level of workshop experience required.
    • Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products.

    Work Schedule

    Full Time / 38 hours per week. Overtime as required. Domestic Relocation may be offered for the right candidate.
