    About the Position
    As the Director – Finance , you will operate and maintain Charles Darwin University's financial and procurement services in support of teaching, learning, research, and community engagement activities across all University business areas.

    In this position, you will be a member of the University's senior leadership team and will work closely with that team, and other senior managers and stakeholders in developing and implementing strategies to further progress the vision, strategic plan, goals, and objectives of the University.

    About You
    To be successful, you will require:

  • Degree qualifications in accounting, finance, or commerce and designation as CPA or CA
  • A record of successful management of a high transactional volume highly automated integrated financial accounting application
  • A proven record of experience in producing financial and management accounts for a medium / large complex multi-unit organisation
  • Proven leadership and management capacity - preferably in multiple situations where continuous improvement has been a significant feature. This includes the development of staff and their contribution to the organisation
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and/or support multi-million dollar projects to budget and timelines while operating in a resource scarce environment
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and effectively manage, to revenue and profitability targets, medium sized businesses of various types
  • Demonstrated capacity to negotiate and interact with senior stakeholders in the public and private sectors and with funding agencies
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at a high level in a variety of professional contexts
