    An exciting opportunity exists to join our Federation Project team. Having secured a funding solution for the Project in May 2023, we've started mobilising to site. Federation is one of the highest-grade base metals development projects in Australia The Federation deposit hosts high-grade zinc, lead, and gold mineralisation and is located in 15 kilometres south of the central-west township of Nymagee. – this is a new mine site opening not to be missed

    The Role

    Reporting to the Superintendent of Environment, Community & Approvals, the Environmental Advisor is central to weaving environmental responsibility into the fabric of our operations. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing and implementing strategies that align our corporate goals with the welfare of the community, establishing Federation as a model of corporate ethics and responsibility.

    Flexible and Convenient Work Schedule:

    We understand the importance of balancing professional commitments with personal life. Our 8 days on, 6 days off roster pattern allows for this balance, with direct FIFO arrangements from Brisbane and Sydney to Cobar. For those in Melbourne, Adelaide, or Canberra, travel includes a convenient connection via Sydney, providing easy access to our operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Champion corporate initiatives for environmental sustainability and responsibility.
    • Conduct thorough audits and proactively identify environmental risks.
    • Management of site environmental data and providing to statutory reports and management plans (e.g., Annual review, NGERS/NPI, EPA Annual Return).
    • Oversee the management and calibration of environmental monitoring equipment.
    • Coordinate environmental inspections across various departments.
    • Offer strategic environmental advice to the leadership team.
    • Lead efforts in managing environmental impacts, including waste management, recycling weed and feral animal control.

    About You

    • You hold relevant tertiary qualifications in environmental science/management/engineering.
    • You have at least 1- 2 years of experience in an environmental role within the mining/resources, heavy industry or construction industry.
    • Experience in NSW mine sites or heavy industry is highly regarded.
    • Interest in management environmental and sustainability data
    • Previous experience with relevant software – QGIS, ESDAT, INX.
    • You possess a current 'C' Class driver's licence.
    • You have the ability to influence internal stakeholders to optimize environmental performance.
    • You are capable of liaising with client representatives, stakeholders, and government departments.
