    • $108,572 pa + super (up to 12%) + leave loading + 9 day fortnight
      (increasing to $112,372 pa effective 1 July 2024)
      Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A,) - Level 7 of EBA5
    • 72.5 hour fortnight
    • Hybrid, flexible working environment, including some work from home days.

    About our opportunity

    As our Principal Land Dealings Officer, you will work within the Property Transactions team and be the team's 2IC - supporting and mentoring your team mates to ensure output of the team is technically correct and process compliant.

    • You will provide detailed technical advice and act as point of contact for land dealings in accordance with legislative requirements, undertaking research as required on sensitive and complex matters.
    • You will prepare and review property dealings documentation, including Department of Resources forms, contracts of sale, commercial and retail leases, licences, consents, agreements and easements and the related lodgments and registrations.

    This role is key to facilitating cross collaboration with a significant level of interaction across our Council departments and also external to our organisation - so you will have keenly developed people skills and really thrive being a part of a dynamic team.

    You will support Council's future infrastructure projects with land acquisition requirements in key growth areas such as the Morayfield South Emerging Community Area and on projects such as the Caboolture River Road upgrade - Grant Road to Morayfield Road.

    About you

    We are seeking someone who has detailed knowledge and experience in the application of the Acquisition of Land Act 1967, Land Act 1994, Local Government Act 2009 & associated Regulations, Land Title Act 1994, Planning Act 2016 & associated Regulations and Duties Act 2001 (all QLD) - this is really important as you will be a technical leader within the team and our broader organisation.

    You will have detailed knowledge of the interpretation and enforcement of relevant legislation and industry standards relating to Council's commercial and residential property portfolio - our work is diverse and challenging so we want to find someone who is excited by this.

    Your seat at the table - you will have strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills in dealing with complex and sensitive property dealing - calm under pressure and always acting in line with our corporate values of integrity and respect, you will be a people person, bringing your extensive experience in building relationships and providing detailed property advice to internal and external stakeholders.

    You will hold a bachelor's degree in law, property, valuation, property economics or equivalent.
