As a Civil Estimator in Sydney, Australia, you would play a crucial role in the construction industry. Your primary responsibility would be to estimate the costs and resources required for civil engineering projects. This involves analyzing project plans, conducting site visits, and collaborating with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather information for accurate cost estimations.
Key Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.

Bid Preparation: Collaborate with the bid team to develop competitive bids by analyzing project requirements, evaluating risks, and determining pricing strategies.

Quantity Takeoffs: Perform quantity takeoffs from engineering drawings and specifications to accurately determine project quantities and costs.

Vendor and Subcontractor Management: Solicit quotes and negotiate pricing with vendors and subcontractors to secure the best pricing and ensure project profitability.

Cost Analysis: Conduct cost analysis to identify areas of potential cost savings, value engineering opportunities, and cost risks.

Documentation: Prepare comprehensive documentation, including cost breakdowns, pricing sheets, and reports, to support bid submissions and project management.
