    The Role

    The Maintenance Systems Officer is accountable for a variety of activities including:

  • development of regional maintenance plans, forecasting of future workload and repair parts to support the sustainment of materiel logistics.
  • The roles are responsible for implementing and ensuring compliance with policy, processes and procedures to support the sustainment of Defence equipment.
  • A Maintenance Systems Officer provides responses to complex correspondence, briefs and reports for delegate consideration, and builds and sustains relationships with key stakeholders at the operational and unit level.
  • The roles are responsible for managing budgets in support of various fleets of Defence equipment.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders and subject matter experts to resolve materiel logistics issues and the application of expertise and initiative to identify alternate courses of actions is a key part of each role.

    As an APS5 Maintenance Systems Officer, you will work as part of an integrated workforce to
    achieve complex materiel logistics outcomes.

    The ideal candidate will also;
  • Be capable of interpreting, legislative frameworks, government decision-making, and Defence mission and policy requirements, to apply processes and procedures.
  • Be skilled and experienced in providing detailed materiel logistics technical and professional advice in relation to complex work.
  • You will have experience in contributing to planning, program and project management, and policy development.
  • You will have experience in building team capability through coaching, feedback and developing others.
  • You will be capable to exercise financial responsibilities to achieve outcomes for Defence.
  • You will be experienced in stakeholder engagement in relation to complex issues and will be able to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders' needs and manage their expectations to achieve results.
