    The Company

    Our client is an Australian family-owned business, with its mother company being in Germany; established over 30 years ago. With their unrivalled standard of machinery and service, the business manufactures, installs and maintains machinery for small or large truss plants, panel (CLT/SIP) manufacturing businesses and bespoke timber joinery businesses.
    The business has clients across QLD, NSW, VIC, WA, TAS and SA; primarily being in regional settings such as Geelong, Mount Gambier, Canberra, Wyong, Bundaberg, Rockhampton, Townsville, Orange and regional Tasmania. Being in the install and maintenance/servicing of very large machines, they manage and service on average 1-2 machines per month per technician. These machines are 85% mechanical with pneumatic and hydraulic systems that require certain competency levels of diagnostics.

    The Role

    Due to growth in sales, additional developments in automation of machinery and internal movements, there is an internal vacancy of a Service Technician/Engineer that will report into the Service Manager.

    The ideal candidate will ideally come from a trade background – i.e. automotive/trade fields that have a hands-on approach. Onboarding and training for all Service Technicians is typically from three to six months at site and depending on the progress of the individual, they could be servicing on their own by the 6-month marker. This individual will be energetic, focused and open to learning to be inducted into the culture of the growing business. Have a willingness to travel, as the role will be approximately 4/5 days on the road. The business has vehicles available for site travel and servicing and will provide expenses and compensation for hotel stays when on the road and Over Time beyond regular hours.

    Skills & Experience

    • Trade qualified – i.e. automotive/trade fields that have a hands-on approach.
    • Have a willingness to travel, as the role will be approximately 4/5 days on the road.
    • Solutions focussed and team player.
    • Strong technical and troubleshooting abilities married with strong Customer Service approach.
    • Be energetic, focused and open to learning to be inducted into the culture of the growing business.
