    Our Opportunity

    Work Location: Perth - Fortescue's Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

    Roster: Monday - Friday.

    Fixed term contract until December 2024.

    In this role you will have the opportunity to bridge the gap between complex data analysis and practical application development. In this role you will build a deep understanding of our Sales and Marketing processes, goals, and requirements to complement your expertise in data science. Your role will be crucial in leveraging AI/ML model concepts to enhance application functionalities and providing insights through data analysis to drive business decisions.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Data Science and Analytics: Apply data science techniques to analyse large datasets, extract insights, and translate these insights into actionable strategies.
    • AI/ML Model Development and Integration: Create and integrate AI/ML models into PowerApps applications, managing aspects like model training, validation, and retraining to enhance app functionalities.
    • Business Process Analysis: Work closely with stakeholders to understand business processes and translate them into technical requirements for application development.
    • Data Management and Integration: Oversee the integration of domain-specific data sources and manage the efficient flow of data within applications.
    • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with different business units and teams, including FIT, to ensure cohesive application development and data strategy implementation.
    • Troubleshoot: Work to ensure support of existing products and tools and ensure their ongoing functionality and improvements.
    • Application Development and Maintenance: Assist PowerApps Developer with developing, deploying, and maintaining applications using PowerApps and low-code tools, tailoring solutions to specific business needs.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
    • Proven expertise in data science, including familiarity with AI/ML concepts, data analysis, and model development.
    • Ability to interpret complex data and turn insights into actionable business strategies.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong grasp of domain-specific data sources, integrations, and workflows.
    • Outstanding collaboration and communication skills, capable of working across various teams and departments.
    • A continuous learner, keen on keeping up-to-date with technological advancements.
    • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL.
    • Experience in application development using PowerApps and low-code platforms.
    • Experience in deploying machine learning models within business applications.
