    Job Title: Data Modeller

    The Data Modeller will work closely with the Director, Business Intelligence to ensure that data is structured, transformed and optimised for reporting and analytical purposes. They will design robust and efficient data models to enable business intelligence teams to generate meaningful insights and decision-making reports.

    This role involves collaborating with business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure that the data aligns with business needs, is of high quality and can be accessed efficiently for reporting purposes.

    About the Role

    We are seeking an experienced Data Modeller to join our team at the State Government Department. The successful candidate will have a high-level skill set in data modelling and experience working with large-scale data loading, manipulation, processing, analysis and exploration solutions.

    The ideal candidate will have strong SQL skills, demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills, and the ability to recommend innovative approaches to data management.

    • Design and implement modern data platforms through effective collaboration with Data & Analytics and broader Strategic Delivery stakeholders.
    • Create logical and physical data models that support the creation of business reports and dashboards.
    • Structure data in a way that is optimised for reporting, including normalising or denormalising data sources.
    • Define and implement data transformation logic required for preparing raw data into usable forms for reporting.

    Key Skills

    • Demonstrated expertise in creating data models for reporting purposes, including knowledge of database design principles.
    • Experience designing and implementing large-scale data solutions, preferably with Microsoft Data and Analytics environment.
    • Strong initiative and problem-solving skills to recommend innovative data management approaches.
    • Well-developed interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders and provide advice and recommendations.

    Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
