    The opportunity:

    The Employment Mentor is responsible for working individually with participants and support networks to assist them into employment and training opportunities. The role is primarily based within community including regular visits to prisons. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to build upon partnerships within the community and run programs, workshops, meetings, and provide intensive individual mentoring to participants.

    There will be an overarching focus on capacity building and training pathways towards employment opportunities; assisting offenders to address criminogenic needs, increase personal functioning, and make positive changes to lessen the risk of reoffending.

    This role is a fulltime 9 day fortnight, fixed term position until 30 June 2025

    Who we are looking for:

    • Demonstrated experience in the provision of mentoring support and assistance to job seekers with complex needs
    • Experience in employment services (preferred)
    • Ability to identify local employers open to working with Justice Pathways
    • Experience working with justice clients or within justice services/custodial settings is an advantage
    • Ability to gather data and complete reporting requirements to meet quality assurance and contractual obligations
    • Ability to work collaboratively with consortium partners and/or other community organisations and support services
    • Department of Justice and Police Clearances (or ability to obtain)
    • Current Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain)
    • Valid C Class Driver's Licence
