Role: Citrix Virtualization Implementation/ Citrix Admin
1. EUT Resourcing – Overview
This refers to how
resource capacity
(people, tools, processes) is aligned within IT support and end-user environments to maintain and support:
- Citrix infrastructure (CVAD, Citrix Cloud, NetScaler)
- End-user experience (logon performance, app access, printing, etc.)
- Incident and problem resolution
- Change and patch management
2. Citrix Resilience
Citrix Resilience refers to the
ability of the Citrix environment to withstand, recover from, and adapt to disruptions
, such as:
- Hardware failures- out of scope as nbn is virtual
- Network outages
- Application crashes
- Security incidents
Key Focus Areas for Resilience:
High Availability (HA)
N+1 Delivery Controllers, Store Fronts, Gateway nodes
Disaster Recovery (DR)
Secondary site or cloud-hosted failover environment
Monitoring
Real-time health checks (Director, Citrix Analytics, etc.)
Capacity Planning
Resource scaling for load bursts or BCP scenarios
Patch/Change Management
Controlled rollouts, rollback plans
Automation
Scripted provisioning, healing (PowerShell, WEM)
Security Hardening
MFA, TLS, anti-keylogging, session recording
3. EUT Resourcing for Citrix Resilience
To support Citrix resilience,
MyIT/EUT teams should be resourced to cover:
BAU Support
- Daily health checks
- Logon time tuning
- Profile & app performance management
- Incident triage and escalation
Incident & Crisis Response
- On-call support coverage for Citrix outages
- L3 SME escalation for environment-level issues
Change & Lifecycle Management
- Monthly patch cycles (OS, Citrix components)
- App onboarding and UAT support
- OS/VDI golden image updates
Reporting & Optimization
- Session usage and performance analytics
- License and capacity utilization reviews
- Recommendations to improve uptime and user experience
BCP/DR Drills & Testing
- Participation in DR simulation
- Validation of HA/DR mechanisms and configurations
Skilled resource requirements:
- Citrix Engineers (onshore/offshore)
- EUC Support Analysts
- Application Packaging & VDI Engineers
- Monitoring/Automation Analysts
- Service Desk and L2/L3 teams
