    The role

    The Commercial Manager will be a trusted and relied upon member of the team responsible for the commercial and contract management for the contract. The Commercial Manager will provide reliable, sound advice to the Project Manager considering the terms of the contract, and the areas of Commercial risk, and including a recommendation. The Commercial Manager will ensure compliance to regulatory requirements, including import and export activities.

    What you will be doing ...

    • Working with the Project Manager, prepare, review, and negotiate contract change documentation, with the customer in support of the Project, in accordance with the approved Delegation of Authority.
    • Prepare commercial letters, and other correspondence as required.
    • Closely monitor any Purchaser Directions and other customer correspondence and actively manage timely response in line with the contract, supporting the Project Manager.
    • Monitor contract performance to delivery schedules and other terms and conditions with project management.
    • Escalate areas of concern or major contractual issues immediately to the VP Commercial.
    • Ensure the appropriate and timely administration of the contract, in particular the change and payment processes and develop productive relationships with third-party stakeholders. Through reviews of business performance, pro-actively ensure that appropriate protective measures are taken should time or scope vary, or other deviations from agreed terms occur.
    • Ensure that commercial risks are identified and communicated and that management plans are agreed and understood across business functions. Manage commercial risks and opportunities through regular reviews; identify and initiate appropriate business responses.
    • Represents the company in external negotiations with responsibility to develop and maintain effective working relationships with customer.
    • Ensure compliance with Commercial Policies/Governance requirements and strategy.
    • Monitor compliance and provide support to the project on all export management activity.
    • Support and work with the Subcontacts Manager to ensure all appropriate flow-down requirements are included within appropriate Subcontracts.

    Do you have ...

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or equivalent degree.

    • Demonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles with a sense of urgency.

    Have you had ...

    • Experience in commercial contract management ideally within a Defence, aerospace or security environment to exceed sales, profit and cash objectives.
    • Experience working with Australian DoD and associated program offices.
