- Operate
Council's Dozer on road maintenance and construction works and related
infrastructure projects including pushing gravel in quarries. - To
work as part of a maintenance or construction team, and/or as Team Leader of a
team, as required. - Operate any Council vehicle/plant item in a safe and
careful manner in accordance with relevant laws. - To follow direction and instruction from Work Officers to
undertake duties associated with road maintenance and construction and perform other
duties associated with the position including labouring duties. - To periodically undertake out of hours (on call) duties.
- Complete daily pre-start checklist of plant to required
safety standards and roadworthiness. - Ensure daily and weekly maintenance of plant is carried out
as required including keeping tidy and serviceable. - To work as part of a maintenance or construction team as
required. - To undertake traffic control at worksites – including
erection of safety signage and safety barriers. - Participation in positive two-way radio (UHF) communication
as required. - Report all vehicle/plant defects immediately if
damage/safety is involved. - To actively promote and demonstrate the core values and
behavioural requirements of the Workplace Environment Statement. - Class
C Driver's Licence; - General
Construction Induction Card (White Card) - Minimum
two (2) years' practical experience as a Dozer Operator to an advanced level
including pushing gravel in quarries; - Practical
skills in road construction and drainage. - Comprehensive
skills in undertaking manual tasks associated with road maintenance and
construction; - Solid
working level skills in time management; - Solid
working level communication skills (oral and written); - Solid
working level interpersonal skills; - Knowledge
of workplace health and safety responsibilities and a commitment to attending
relevant WHS training.

Description
Mid-Western Region Council is looking for a full-time Dozer Operator to operate Council's heavy earthmoving plant on works involved
with the maintenance and construction of roads and associated infrastructure,
particularly pushing gravel in quarries.

The salary range being offered for the position of Dozer Operator is $2146 - $2416 per fortnight (dependent on skills, qualifications
and experience) plus superannuation, a 9 day fortnight and
long service leave after 5 years.
