    About the company

    Our client is a privately owned family business, established more than 100 years ago, who design, manufacture & supply the most comprehensive range of industrial & transportation hardware across all its divisions. They have 4 main business divisions, including Hardware, Furniture, Automotive and Corporate/Commercial/Govt. This key role will focus in their Hardware division, including products for trucks & body building such as fasteners, locks, ventilation, steps and ladders, vehicle accessories etc. for the B2B commercial & trade sector. Their products are sold into the vehicle aftermarket, including Buses/Coaches, Emergency Vehicles, Body Building, Mining and Caravans. Their existing customers consist of med-large companies, as well as trade/body building companies. The Hardware division sells approx. 4,500 products into the vehicle aftermarket, with a key focus on new product innovation and sales growth across ANZ.

    About the role

    Reporting to the National Segment Manager, this role will be responsible for managing key accounts within the Truck, Trailer and Body Builder Segment. You will drive growth with current established successful client base. Maintaining relationships with key decision makers, influencers, detractors, and executive staff across the segment to an exceptional level is a must as you balance the needs of the business with the key needs of the customer. You will be on the edge of industry trends, reacting in accordance with demand. Understanding regional market dynamics is an important part of this role. Estimating and reporting on market volumes, market share, competitors, changing market conditions and influencing factors and the dissemination of this information will be a key requirement.

    About you

    You will be an innovator with the capacity to craft this newly created opportunity and career role. An autonomous operator with expertise in account management & strategy to support sales growth, orientating with key stakeholders in the business, a clear and confident approach and demonstrating a natural sales process. You will contact clients and key stakeholders across Australia and NZ, build rapport, and identify & remove pain points. Your scanning & analysis of the market will see you produce a clear road map of what is needed for the Hardware division to grow. Preparedness for interstate travel is essential for success in the role. Experience in an industrial consumable's environment is ideal, along with a tenacious and determined approach to success.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Serve as the lead point of contact for all key customer account management matters within your allocated segment and region.
    • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships.
    • Ensure the timely and successful delivery of the solutions according to customer needs and objectives.
    • Clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal stakeholders
    • Develop new business with existing clients and/or identify areas of improvement to meet sales quotas.
    • Forecast and track key account metrics (e.g. quarterly sales results and annual forecasts)
    • Collaborate with sales team to identify and grow opportunities within territory.
    • Assist with challenging client requests or issue escalations as needed.
    • Active, enthusiastic, and professional participation in company and customer events.
    • Championing best in class key account management disciplines, processes, procedures, and ways of working across the wider business.
