    About the Job

    The Principal Engineer - Subsea & Pipelines is responsible for contributing to all aspects of engineering design to meet the technical competency expectations of Genesis and its clients. A key part of the role will be to support/deliver studies, including responsibility for the quality of deliverables.

    General responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

    • Providing detailed engineering input during all design phases as required by the client, including interpretation of industry standards.
    • Demonstrated commitment to providing high quality service to clients within budget and time constraints.
    • Participate as Principal Engineer in multidiscipline studies for the early phases (Feasibility, Option Selection, Concept Studies) in Greenfield and Brownfield Developments.
    • Conduct simulations and analyses, prepare reports and prepare calculations as required.
    • Perform all work in accordance with the Genesis Quality Management System and within agreed time and schedule constraints.
    • To review any design work carried out by third parties.
    • Monitor new technology developments and ensure that where appropriate these are addressed in study execution.
    • Liaise with client regarding technical issues and study progress. Ensure effective communication between all stakeholders.
    • Ensure work is executed in accordance with best practice and compliance with Genesis QA procedures

    The Skills and Experience Needed to Succeed:

    • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (essential)
    • Proven technical experience in the upstream energy business (essential)
    • Overall understanding of upstream facilities including subsea, onshore and offshore pipeline systems, and processing facilities
    • Experience in project development phases such as conceptual studies, FEED, detailed design, and operations support with an understanding of the appropriate engineering definition requirements for each phase
    • Competence in the use of industry standard software
    • Previous consulting experience preferably within the energy or resources industries (desirable)
