    The Organisation:

As the Principal Management Accountant, you will be working in a complex area with large volumes of data while providing critical support around financial performance, budget management and funding to senior stakeholders.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Support the department's external budget process.
    • Undertake a lead role in the state budget, funding allocations, budgeting principles and system configuration.
    • Provide high-level strategic advice to support critical areas and senior managers around management reporting, governance and proposals.
    • Manage the development, co-ordination, consultation and finalisation of the annual Budget Papers.
    • Liaise with other agencies including Queensland Treasury on the preparation of annual financial statements, accounting policies and methodologies, audit reports and audit recommendations.

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • CPA or CA
    • The ideal candidate will have recent TRIDATA experience and Finance One.
    • Experience working in a similar position across within government or large commercial role preferred.
    • Extensive experience in management accounting and financial reporting demonstrated in a leadership role.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, policies, and compliance requirements.
    • Proficiency in financial software and tools, including proficiency in Excel, Power Bi and financial modelling.
