    We're searching for an experienced Senior Manager, Business Controls to join our high performing Business Controls Office (BCO) team.

    In this 18-month fixed term contract, reporting directly to the Head of Business Controls Office, you'll be responsible for developing and implementing the first line operational risk requirements for the new prudential standard CPS 230 Operational Risk Management. This role forms an integral part of the 1st Line of Defence.

    Our ideal candidate will be an experienced risk professional in Financial Service or in consultancy; has had hands-on practical application experience implementing regulatory standards (especially in 1st line risk), and has the ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership during the CPS230 implementation. Given the critical nature of the project, you'll be required to interact with senior and C suite leaders at ING. With a key focus on stakeholder engagement and influencing senior leaders across the bank, you'll be a trusted and resilient partner for our BCO team.

    You'll love rolling up your sleeves and thriving on strategic thinking, while also diving into the nitty-gritty details of developing and implementing key artefacts for compliance. Balancing the big picture with a keen eye for detail is essential.

    What you'll do

    • Support the implementation of the new prudential standard CPS 230 Operational Risk Management, including but not limited to development of operational risk profiles, completion of risk assessments across critical business processes and managing project change.
    • Assist the CPS 230 implementation team and Head of BCO in the overall and ongoing development, embedding and management of non-financial risk management and its associated frameworks across the business which includes but not limited to training and knowledge sharing across teams on various risk topics.
    • Lead co-ordination across NFR disciplines (operational resilience, business continuity, material service providers and operational risk profiles).
    • Develop sustainable process reviews of business critical operations to ensure ongoing maintenance of risk profiles and compliance with policy and regulatory obligations.
    • Work with 2LOD and various stakeholders to drive improvements to tools, processes and systems
    • Executive level adviser to CPS 230 Steering Committee across requirements for CPS 230.

    What we're looking for

    • Experience in Banking/Financial Services with a sound knowledge of banking products and risk management
    • Experience in working on compliance projects and working knowledge of CPS 230 (highly advantageous)
    • Someone who is comfortable being both strategic and hands on implementation
    • An understanding of key regulatory and compliance regimes associated with credit products and Retail Banking products such as Responsible Lending, Privacy, Banking Code of Practice, Consumer Credit Code, Know Your Customer (KYC) etc.
    • A passion for learning and developing deep expertise, problem solving and a pragmatic and commercial approach
    • A reputation for adding value across a breadth of teams and stakeholders at different levels and a love of a good challenge
    • Action orientation and passion for getting things done and cutting through bureaucracy with a pragmatic approach
