    The role

    An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team at Guide Dogs Queensland, based at our head office in Bald Hills.

    The role is instrumental in supporting our clients with low vision or blindness to participate effectively, efficiently, independently, confidently, and safely in fundamental activities of everyday life.

    As an Occupational Therapist, you will have a unique opportunity to apply your skills in a niche area by designing and implementing individual program plans and/or NDIS plans tailored specifically to the needs and goals of our clients.

    This position is available on a part-time (minimum 4 days per week) or full-time basis (preferred). You will also enjoy travelling regularly to work with our clients within an allocated region of Queensland.

    About You

    Our successful candidate will demonstrate:

    • A keen interest in working within a multidisciplinary support team to deliver therapies to both adults and young people.
    • Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (or equivalent) with current AHPRA registration.
    • Minimum 3 years' experience as an Occupational Therapist preferably in the community sector.
    • Be able to effectively prioritise tasks and work under minimal supervision.
    • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Hold a current Open Driver's Licence.
    • Current First Aid Certificate.
    • Willingness to travel of up to 4 nights at a time, within a six-week period.
