Eastern Health

Eastern Health is one of Melbourne's largest public health services. We provide a range of emergency, surgical, medical and general healthcare services and have a proud history of serving a diverse community.

Our Employee Value Proposition is "Being a part of Eastern Health means belonging to a welcoming team of healthcare experts".

This statement aligns with our promise to our communities, patients, consumers and staff that we will be HEALTHIER TOGETHER. Bolder than a vision for the future, our promise calls us to action. We know that working together is the only way we can achieve what is necessary for a healthier future.

About the role

The Community Rehabilitation Program provides a short-term goal based interdisciplinary rehabilitation program for clients to optimise their functional abilities and independence in the home or community setting. The program operates out of 4 Eastern Health sites (Angliss, Peter James, Wantirna and Lilydale). This role will be predominantly based out of the Angliss CRP, and there is the opportunity of joining this role with another temporary part time role at Yarra Ranges Health- Lilydale (0.4 EFT) for the right candidate, and/or additional hours to cover staff vacancies.

This role is required to supervise grade 1 rotating physiotherapists, AHAs and physiotherapy students. Experience in delivering effective supervision and facilitating optimal learning experiences for all is essential. This role is a leadership role in our team, setting the bar high for evidence-based practice and quality care.

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Recognised tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy

  • Current registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia

  • Eligibility for practicing membership of the Australian Physiotherapy Association

  • Sound clinical skills in managing a predominantly musculoskeletal caseload (may also include some neurological, cardio-pulmonary, surgical and general rehabilitation clients), and comprehensive discharge planning using a client-centred approach.

  • Broad clinical experience encompassing diverse patient presentations.

  • Previous clinical experience working in an aligned clinical environment.

  • High level communication skills, both written and oral, especially to allow for client care planning and handover of care.

  • Demonstrated capacity to work/ show leadership within a multidisciplinary team.

  • Experience in supervision of staff and/or students.

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Demonstrated ability, knowledge and experience to lead the professional development of others

  • Demonstrated ability to introduce innovative practice.

  • Commitment to improving own practice and undertaking quality and research activities.

  • Demonstrated understanding of professional codes of conduct.

  • Current Victorian driver's licence.

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice).
