    Mining - Exploration & Geoscience (Mining, Resources & Energy)
    Pantoro is seeking an experienced Open Pit Mine Geologist to join the expanding team at the Norseman Gold Project.

    Pantoro has commenced mining at its Scotia Mining centre 23km south of Norseman with the Green Lantern and Scotia pits having a current pit life of 5 years with Underground mining to commence at the end of year 2.

    Drilling has defined a 2.3km strike length of mineralisation with ongoing extensional drilling likely to extend this to over 3km.

    8/6 FIFO Roster from Perth.
    Alternate point of hire (DIDO) may be considered.
    The Role

    The Senior Open Pit Geologist is responsible for management, collection and interpretation of technical data including geological mapping and sampling, geotechnical mapping and monitoring, grade control and diamond core logging, compilation of mining and geological production statistics and reporting.

    Through analysis and interpretation of this data, the Senior Open Pit Geologist provides geological support to mining operations, resource compilation and reconciliation reporting.

    Additional key duties will include supervision and mentoring of mine geologist and mine technicians.
    Roles and Responsibilities
    Ensuring the health and safety of all staff involved in Mining operations in compliance with company standards.
    Maintain operational direction as set by the Mine manager and Geology Manager, of the mining and geological process.
    Ensure geological operational capability and performance is maintained through supervision of personnel and processes.

    Managing performance indicators for the mining and geological activities, in line with the annual, quarterly plans; monitoring and managing performance accordingly.

    Manage grade control drilling and development drilling when required to establish the limits of the orebody within approved budget estimates.

    Ensure compilation of geological, grade control and resource models.
    Assist in the preparation of regular management updates and cost reports on the progress of geological and mining activities.
    About You
    Bachelor of Science (BSc) or Bachelor of Applied Science (BApp Sc) majoring in geology
    Significant experience in an open pit mining environment
    Experience working with gold mineralisation systems desirable.
    Hands-on supervisory leader
    Proficient in Datamine & Leapfrog mining software or similar
    Manual Driver's License
    National Police Clearance
    Modern Camp
    The project is serviced by a new accommodation village situated within the Norseman township with full messing facilities.

    Employees will also have access to the town facilities and services, providing the best of both worlds while on site.

    About the Project

    The Norseman Gold Project is an exciting development which includes the new 1 million tonne per annum processing plant completed in late 2022 and development of multiple large open pits and underground mines.

    A combination of new mines, cutbacks and underground mine extensions is now underway.
    The project is 725km East of Perth and 200km south of Kalgoorlie.
    Existing mine life is approaching 10 years.
    Ongoing organic growth is expected.

    Pantoro is a growing Australian gold producer with established operations at the Norseman Gold Project.
    Open Cut and Underground mining operations are underway, feeding a new processing plant.
    The processing plant commenced commissioning in September 2022 and is operating at design nameplate capacity.
