We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Project Controls Specialist to join us in our ID - Commercial Delivery team in Brisbane or Melbourne on a fixed term basis for 12 months.

Reporting to the Team Leader Project Controls, you will play a key role in leading cost control, forecasting, and performance reporting, supporting Project Managers through monthly reviews, and ensuring alignment between cost and schedule. Experience with P6, schedule risk analysis, and oversight of EOM and ID project reporting is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end project cost management using PRISM, ensuring accurate budgets, commitments, accruals, forecasts, and control account management.
• Develop and maintain cost baselines aligned with approved funding and governance requirements.
• Support Project Managers in monthly cost reviews, forecasting, variance analysis, and performance reporting.
• Provide clear visibility of cost performance, identifying risks, trends, and mitigation strategies.
• Integrate cost and schedule data from P6 to ensure alignment between programme and financial performance.
• Support schedule risk analysis, SRA / PRA, to inform contingency and forecast accuracy.
• Provide oversight support to the Scheduler, including high-level schedule review, EOM reporting, and ID project review reports.
• Prepare high-quality cost and performance reports for governance forums and management review.

Your background

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Project Management or Business/Commerce (preferred).
• Demonstrated experience in a project cost controls position within the energy industry or engineering/construction projects
• Experience with ARES Prism utilising the cost and change modules.
• Advanced working knowledge of Primavera P6, Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel
• Demonstrated understanding/knowledge of project execution processes/work flow, cost control, schedule baseline development and maintenance, progress measurement and project management reporting systems

Commercial Delivery underpins the successful delivery of APA's growth projects, driving commercial discipline across contracting, estimating, project controls, and cost and schedule alignment, while acting as the key interface between Energy Solutions and Construction.
