    Core Role:

    The Oracle Consulting ANZ Consulting Engagement Director will be accountable for our project's success carefully balancing client's business transformation needs while ensuring projects are profitably delivered. As the Delivery Sponsor, this is a leadership role requiring close engagement with clients' senior stakeholders delivering exceptional experiences through the project journey & delighting clients by delivering successful outcomes. Client delight and advocacy being measured through regular surveys & generating external-facing reference assets on every project.

    The role is expected to further continue upholding the strong reputation of Oracle Consulting, by consistently delivering above our client's expectations, building long-term relationships with senior client stakeholders (including C-level), learn & understand deeply about our clients business & industry and related problems to expand the breadth & depth of Oracle's offerings as solutions to meet client's needs, while balancing the performance expectations of Oracle Consulting.

    Based in Sydney, the right candidate will be a seasoned Engagement Director with experience of consulting delivery with management consulting practices, system integrators, software vendors or business partners to drive success of the team, experienced in cementing and forging relationships amongst our existing customers along with the project directors, project managers and architects.

    This high-profile team is instrumental to Oracle's future and growing success.

    Scope of Role

    • Works collaboratively with Oracle Consulting's Sales team and with the wider Oracle's Sales ecosystem such as License & Subscriptions, Oracle Direct, Channel Sales, Industries, Support & business support functions.
    • Expand ARR by identifying opportunities for expansion and/or extensions.
    • As delivery sponsor, take ownership of projects and programs and act as a guardrail to consulting team while advising customer stakeholders realize fruitful business outcomes.
    • Lead by example to achieve customer delight while ensuring successful and profitable delivery.
    • Nurture and promote the spirit of collaboration and positive can-do attitude.
    • Leads engagement with other lines of business and partners.
    • Act as a mentor and coach to budding talent within the consulting practice.

    A day in your life at Oracle Consulting would cover:

    • Utilising your current and previous relationships to open doors with C level execs
    • Lead or take part in the account planning and strategic development for targeted accounts while fostering relationships with clients.
    • Independently and in conjunction with our Applications and Technology sales colleagues, help the team develop consulting opportunities within a defined set of accounts and prospects .
    • Supervising your success plans to deliver consistently while building a healthy pipeline of advocates and future expansion opportunities.
    • Be responsible for Oracle client proposal submissions, client presentations and support the team through end-to-end business solutions.
    • Help forge relationships with business partners to craft solutions as required.

    As Consulting Engagement Director, you will be responsible or the following:

    Leadership & Exec Sponsorship:

    • OC Sponsor to customer Senior Mgmt stakeholders
    • Enable and support OC Exec Sponsor governance with customer C-level execs.

    Account / Project Oversight & Governance:

    • Jointly accountable (with PD/PM) for Revenue & Margin on projects & overall projects financial health
    • Proactively identify, highlight & mitigate risks; resolve / escalate internal and customer-related issues.
    • Organize & chair regular internal Oracle XLOB program / project progress reviews; drive win:win outcomes to ensure Oracle is successful
    • Represent account/project with all internal OC collaborators (APAC PMO, GRM, SMT)
    • Escalation point-of-contact for Project Directors (PD) / Project Managers (PMs) to remove blockers with XLOB, Solution, Solution Sales and Offshore/Nearshore delivery centers.

    Account / Project Strategy & Execution:

    • Own Advocacy objectives & generation of references / reference assets within portfolio
    • Prepare Account Plans for each account in Collaboration with assigned Sales Lead
    • Advise the execution of Expansion strategy.
    • Review Delivery Plans & ensure alignment to set business outcomes.
    • Ensure project health and profitability.

    Capacity Management & Utilisation:

    • Work closely with Solution Capability Managers on timely staffing.
    • Drive own billable utilization to be >85%

    Enablement & Readiness:

    • Coach PD/PMs on expectations & process to meet portfolio objectives.
    • Enable & upskill PD/PMs
    • Be certified at OC's Project Mgmt levels to optimally manage complex and strategic projects.

    Process Oversight & Improvement:

    • Work closely with PMOaaS, Business Support & Operations
    • Strengthen processes with continuous improvements to help PD/PMs and Consulting practice at large.

    Key attributes needed for this role:

    • Critical Thinking: ability to analyse situations, anticipate potential issues, and develop plans to address them
    • Decision making: Ability to make informed decisions based on available information, considering various aspects and outcomes
    • Conflict Resolution: Ability to mediate conflicts and negotiate solutions
    • Strong financial competence & attention to detail: ability to analyze project budgets, prepare financial reports, and forecasts to identify trends, variances and ability to prepare remediation plans for course correction

    Prerequisites

    12+ years of experience relevant to this position, including 8+ years of project management experience.

    Proven track record to follow solid project management principles and successfully lead projects of increasing complexity.

    Comfortable working in a matrix management environment.

    Strong influencing and negotiation skills to deal with internal collaborators, customers, and partners.

    Product, technology, and/or industry expertise relevant to the portfolio focus.

    Experience in Sales.

    Strong leadership skills.
