    AgriFutures Australia is a statutory rural Research and Development Corporation (RDC), responsible for funding Research and Development (R&D) and related extension activity, on behalf of the 13 levied agricultural industries they support.     The Position

    Within the Levied Industries team, AgriFutures is seeking a Manager, Levied Industries to manage the Honey Bees program with opportunities to be involved in other industries and industry related projects across the Levied industries team. This role is a key conduit between the industry, partners and Agrifutures to help manage the many stakeholders and volume of workload.

    Reporting to the Senior Manager, Levied Industries, and working closely with the greater levied industries team you will have responsibility to help initiate, develop, and manage the operations of RDE programs, aimed to grow the portfolio of Honey Bees as well as supporting other programs across the team. Topical issues common to Honey Bees include pollination, disease resistance, promoting Honey Bees importance, their feeding strategy, ecological risk and more.

    The Person

    To be successful in this Manager role you will have:

    • an entrepreneurial approach, comfortable working in a less structured open space, creating ideas and distilling concepts
    • Tertiary education in science or Bachelor of Agriculture (Business) or related area preferred, however other relevant areas considered
    • Contracting and procurement experience
    • experience in rural RDE preferred
    • Experience delivering outcomes to end users
    • Strong demonstrated project management skills
    • at least 5 years Program Management skills (outcome driven, planned and attention to detail)
    • influencing and negotiation skills
    • exceptional customer service skills focused on high level relationship management
    • highly developed communication skills – both verbal and written
    • a great team work ethic and approach

    A passion for or experience in Honey Bees will be greatly valued.

    This is a role where you are required to be tenacious in your approach to work, have a varied and interesting work load and get to collaborate with teams internally and externally.
