    Description

    Unix/Linux Infrastructure Engineer

    Our federal government client is seeking a talented and driven Unix/Linux Infrastructure Engineer. You will play a vital role in managing our Midrange Unix Infrastructure. They will also be responsible for mentoring junior infrastructure engineers, providing technical leadership to application teams, and advancing troubleshooting capabilities i.e. Level 2/ Level 3 support across our Midrange environments.

    About the role:

    • Collaborate with other teams across the Infrastructure Division and vendors to assess, plan, and implement infrastructure improvements, patching and upgrades.
    • Evaluate and assist in the ongoing support of ISM compliant secure Midrange Unix infrastructure platforms.
    • Participate in incident response and problem management activities, providing expertise and guidance to resolve complex issues effectively.
    • Support security monitoring and implementing improvements.
    • Mentor and coach other junior infrastructure engineers within the team, fostering their professional development and technical growth.

    About you:

    • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux Operating Systems.
    • Experience with creating detailed technical documentation, e.g. as-built documents, operational handover documents, support guides, standard operating procedures.
    • Experience in working collaboratively with networking, compute, storage, security engineers and architects to coordinate deployment and management of components.
    • Experience in working with vendors and internal resources to ensure delivery of solutions meets requirements.

    Location and Contract Term

    This role is being offered to those in, ACT, QLD, SA, VIC. Initial contract for 12 months and high chance to be extended.

    Security Requirements

    Our Government Client require applicants must be Australian citizen and must have a NV1 Security clearance and candidate will be required to maintain a clearance at this level.


    Candidates will need to be willing to undergo pre-employment screening checks which may include, ID and work rights, security clearance verification and any other client requested checks.
